A concrete block, or CMU (Concrete Masonry Unit), is a large rectangular building unit made from cement, sand, gravel, and water, molded and cured into strong, durable shapes used for walls and structures, offering speed, insulation, and fire resistance compared to traditional bricks. They come in solid or hollow forms and are faster to lay, reducing labor and mortar use, with hollow versions allowing for steel reinforcement.
